A community celebration of the golf course’s 94th year as a municipal course was held on September 3rd. The PTGC Players Club sponsored the event that welcomed over 100 people who took part in the putting contests (1 for kids, 1 for adults), closest-to-the-pin contest, free driving range, and food tastings from The Restaurant in the clubhouse.
Door prizes were raffled off, donated by Bayview Restaurant, Henery’s Hardware, Pennysaver Market, Quimper Mercantile, the Wine Seller, Gabe Tonan (PTGC manager), Rick Unrue (clubhouse restaurant manager), and the PTGC Players Club.
Gabe also provided golf balls and golf clubs to use with the games. Yard signs, “SAVE Port Townsend’s Public GOLF COURSE,” were available and taken by those who wanted to post one in their yard.
